1. someone asks you how much the climate might warm over the next 100 years if we do nothing to address climate change. how do you answer?

imagine you have a dollar bill, which is 0.1 mm thick. if you double it, you have two bills, a 0.2 mm stack. if you double again, you have four bills (0.4 mm stack). if you double again, you have eight bills (0.8 mm stack), etc.
how many doublings do you have to go through before you have a stack that reaches from the earth to the moon?
(hints: the moon is 360,000 km away -- how many mm is that? if this seems really hard, you're doing it wrong! )
