Sun consists of super magnetic storms that are the result of the solar flare that the sun creates due to its blasts of corpuscular energy.  Sun has an 11-year cycle of sunspot activity. This cycle is a dominant feature of the sun's internal activity. Measured in wolf numbers. Solar activity causes auroras to light up the night sky on earth due to the solar winds which react with higher latitudes of the earth.
