known as "obamacare" the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is a law from 2010 that creates a number of rights and protections to create a health care system more fair. It also creates subsidies to help making it more affordable for those who can't pay.

A important fact for the mental health patients that need help from the government to have their insurance is that, with the ACA, health insurance companies are not allowed to deny coverage for those who already had a mental condition diagnosis.
