Explanation:

The primary requirement for a climate to be classified as tropical is for it to have a temperature of at least 18°C every month of the year.

Because of the high sun angles on the equator and the almost non-existent seasonal variation, tropical climates usually maintain constant temperatures year round except in the case of tropical climates with a distinct dry season.

While not all climates found in the tropical latitudes are classified as such, these are exclusively found in high altitude areas.
