The reasons why Chinese immigrants came to escape economic chaos in China. They came to the united states to find gold during the California Gold rush which was in 1849. But when the gold rush had ended they were seeking for jobs and a lot of them started to work of the Transcontinental Railroad, which is a railroad track that goes through the whole entire country without breaking off the tracks to take a new train. Because of this they ended up making money for their poor family's.
