Some of those culutral traits that have been shared have been appealing to the people of other cultures, so they adopted them. In this manner, numerous cultural traits have spread over very wide areas, and good examples are the religions, like with Buddhism spreading through trade to East and Southeast Asia and Islam spreading through trade in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
