There are multiple pieces of evidence for the theory of plate tectonics. One of them is the fossil remains of organisms that lived in the past. While most of the fossils don't really offer any insight into the movement of the plates, a smaller part of them are the total opposite, providing perfect evidence that the plates are moving.

We are talking about fossils of a particular organism that can be found in several different continental masses That are far away from each other nowadays and don't have land-bridges between them. Such fossils are found in South America, Antarctica, Africa, and Australia, all of which are far away and have no land connection.

As it can easily be seen in nature, two exactly the same species with different backgrounds can not be found anywhere, as every organism is unique. Also, if a single species lives in several different regions with different living conditions and there is a natural barrier to isolate reproductive populations, a divergence occurs, so multiple different species evolve in accordance with the environment. Basically, a species that is found on several continents proves that those continents were merged, representing a single ecosystem in which that organism thrived.
