An amplifier, of constant gain kp = 20, reads in the difference between the float voltage signal V, and the desired water level as voltage V4 and provides a 'voltage' V to the valve actuator, i. e. V = kp (Va - V/). The valve actuator gets the voltage signal V and provides the 'input flow rate, in m/s' Qin to the tank. The transfer function from V to ĝin is K(s). Drain causes the water to leak at the rate Qout in m/s. The leak rate depends on the water level h. The transfer function from h to dout is G1(s). The difference between the 'input flow rate' din and the 'leak rate' qout is the 'net flow rate' Inet. The ‘water level h is just the integration of the 'net flow rate' Anet : h = anet dt, where A = 2 m? is area of the tank.
