Sketch a cross-section through the upper 300 km of a subduction zone where an oceanic plate is subducting beneath a continental plate (not the same as the example above!). All features should be approximately to scale. Please make sure your sketch contains the following: - Label the oceanic crust and oceanic lithosphere 1. Label the continental crust and continental lithosphere.
2. Label the asthenosphere
3. Indicate the location of the trench and the volcanic arc
4. Indicate the relative motion of the two plates with arrows, one on each plate
5. Include some stars to mark where earthquakes might occur.
6. Make sure to include earthquakes (stars) along the full depth range where earthquakes may occur.
