Compare and contrast how are sleet and freezing rain similar? how are they different?

Sleet is rain that freezes in the air and comes down as a little ice pellet ;On the other hand,freezing rain comes down as rain ,but freezes when it hits the ground or some other surface.In other words,a thin ice coating that forms when rain freezes over trees and streets is called sleet.So it is a mixture of falling rain and snow.
