Japan, China and the US are the top 3 consumers of seafood and 1.2 billion people depend on seafood as their daily source of protein. However our fishing stocks have decreased by 90% between 1950 and 2011. In addition, certain commonly used fishing practices cause horrendous damage to the rest of ocean ecosystems.
