Finally, why are these areas home to some of the earliest civilizations? These all had a reason, the biggest for all them was because the water ways provided a faster way to get their trades places. Rivers were attractive locations for the first civilizations because they provided a steady supply of drinking water and made the land fertile for growing crops.
