A butterfly egg has hatched and has developed into a larva. The larva is shedding its skin and trying to create a chrysalis to develop into a butterfly, but it is unable to. What would most likely happen to the larva if it were not able to create a chrysalis?
It would likely die because it cannot grow and develop.
It would create a hard shell around itself and become a moth.
It would eventually develop wings anyways and be a small butterfly.
It would develop through incomplete metamorphosis and become a butterfly.
