With more than 13,700 islands it is covered with 70% seawater and 195 million hectares of land. The most populated city is Java, with a population of 61% which makes it susceptible to resource exploitation.  

While the villagers rely on agriculture, population increase is also a concern for Indonesia. There has been transmigration to other cities which lead to fights with the natives. Transmigration is done to ease overpopulation, however, it threatens the countries forest. Increase in population will increase the exploitation of resources, and the Indonesian islands account for 10% of the world's rain forest.
