When a range of mountains can be measured tens to hundreds of kilometers in length as well as width and is located near an active tectonic plate boundary or coast, it is called a mountain belt.

Mountain belts are partially composed of regionally metamorphosed rocks.

I'm pretty sure it's c. extremely gradual but not 100% sure though.
