The best answer would be placing the patient's arms under his or her head.

The prone position is when you lie a patient face down on their chest. The opposite would be the supine position where you lie them on their backs. Lying in the prone position is used for acute respiratory distress. While lying on the front if you place the patient's arms under their head this might create better comfort for the patient while lying in this position for a long period of time as it takes pressure off the neck and forehead. The patient needs their diaphragm unrestricted so placing the arms under the body would not be beneficial.
