What percent of diabetes patients have type 2?

Some statistics suggest that around 9% of all population has diabetes (around one third is diagnosed). Around 90 % of all patients with diabetes are the patients with type 2 diabetes, so we can infer from this that around 8% of people have type 2 diabetes.
