Heartburn is actually a symptom of GERD

So I would say that some of our common foods that we eat stimulate increased stomach acid secretion which is setting the stage for heartburn.

That means you have too much stomach acid. You need to avoid foods that are acidic. To help take antacids to calm your stomach down.
