Why? Well, during meetings you must turn your devices off because the notifications and ringtones can be very distracting. Asking questions however, is a good thing because knowledge is power and he's learning as well as everyone else so obviously he's listening, but the only thing he needs to work on is his timelines. He 15 minutes late from the original time the meeting was planned and that can show alot of minor or major ( basically depending on the company ) red flags.
