The chemicals (gases, solid particles, or liquid droplets) in the polluted air  harm the human health.   Long - term effect of continued exposed to air pollution include heart disease, lung cancer, and respiratory diseases.  The ozone which is part of the polluted air reduces the lung capacity and irritate the airways, the sulfur dioxide irritates the lining of the airways which may be the reason for lung cancer. Pollution causes inflammation of the heart and may cause cardiovascular problems.
