The reason I wouldn't try to convince even a friend to make the decision is that he needs to make that kind of decision him or herself.  I would not want the responsibility for someone else's life.

Explanation:

When the flu vaccinations first came on the market, many people died after being vaccinated.  I can only imagine that those issues have been fixed, but I don't really know for sure.  I never get flu vaccines to this day and so far I'm three quarters of a century old.  I just keep away from huge crowds and people who are obviously sick.  So, my friend would have to think for himself.
