- A reduced red blood cell count because the protein called hemoglobine S that causes the anemia, produces sickle cells and changes them for the red blood cells.

- The elevated white blood cells would elevatge, in order to defend themselves from this foreing protein, that may come from the sickle cells.

- The reduction of the hematrocrit level is due to the low count on red blood cells. The hemoglobin is the protein withing the red blood cells. Since it is reduced the hemoglobin with be reduced also.
