A person that is hardiness has the strength to endure and withstand difficult situation and stressful life event because the person will always cope in whatsoever situations or conditions him/she finds them self which is what Tim was portraying unlike Ashley who cannot cope with difficult and challenging situations .

Someone like Tim will always turn difficult conditions or experiences into a learning opportunities because they don't care about what life throws at them. They tend to cope and endure no matter how difficult or hard their situation or conditions is.
