This will make a person to slow down and act sluggishly with impaired coordination, slurred speech, shallow breathing, blackouts etc.

When alcohol in the form of wine is mixed with a barbiturate, the effects are doubled since both will depress the nervous system. Combining both will lead to overdosing, addiction, and could be fatal. Moreover, withdrawal symptoms for both are also very serious.
