The designed chart of the meals of an individual for nourishment and nutrition is called meal management. Meal management comprises food purchasing, preparation, and diet planning.

According to meal management, an individual should take 20% fruits, 30% vegetables, 30% whole grains and 20% proteins.

Explanation:

All the classes of food have their individual importance to the body and they should be taken in the right proportion to achieve an efficient body metabolism.

Protein are the building blocks of life and help repair worn out tissues and in growth process. They include meat, egg, beans and our diet should contain 20 percent of these foods.

Vitamins help out body fight against infection and sources of vitamins are mostly fruits and vegetables e.g. Oranges, Guava etc. Our diet should comprise of 20 percent of Vitamins.

Carbohydrates: They help in providing energy to the body and grains are major sources of this class of food. Our diet should contain 30percent of them.

Minerals and Roughages- Vegetables are a good source and our food should contain 30 percent of them.
