Another Big Difference Between Npos And For-Profits: NPOs don't pay taxes.
Why not? Because they don't make actual profits. All their money goes to the good they are trying to accomplish.

So why do we even need not-for-profits? Can't all these needy causes be supported by for-profit businesses or the government?
