Sometimes, it can be difficult managing your time. Out of the seven time-management tips listed, which five would be the most helpful for you? I need 3 or 4 sentences please.
Create a daily and weekly schedule. On the daily schedule, make a list of all that you need and would like to achieve by the end of the day. Next to each item on your list, write an estimated length of time it will take to complete. As you progress through the list, check off each item and revise the amount of time if needed. Also, create a weekly schedule that includes upcoming tests and assignments as well as extracurricular events and social commitments.
Set priorities. Once you have established your daily to-do list, you will need to write the tasks in order of importance. The items that you must complete that day should be written first, and the things that you would like to accomplish should follow.
Break big assignments into smaller tasks. Sometimes the biggest challenge with a large project is figuring out how to begin. To overcome this, write down the name of the project on a piece of paper. Then, create a checklist of smaller tasks that are needed to complete it. This will help you divide the work into manageable sections and track your progress. Be sure to add the smaller tasks to your daily and weekly schedule.
Develop routines. Whether it is planning your wardrobe, preparing your backpack the night before, or having a designated time and place for homework, it can be helpful to develop daily routines. Also, having established places for your belongings will help keep you organized and reduce time wasted hunting down misplaced items.
Set time limits on electronics. Cell phones, video games, and social media sites can quickly eat away large chunks of time. If you are taking a break from your studies and decide to hop on your electronics, then be sure to set a timer. Once the timer signals, get right back on task.
Maximize your spare time. Whether you are riding the bus home or waiting at the dentist’s office, there may be opportunities throughout the day when you can get in some extra reading or studying. You might be surprised at how much you can accomplish by efficiently using these blocks of downtime.
Know when to say “no.” Classmates might ask you for help on assignments or your boss might ask you to cover an extra shift, but it is ok to say “no.” It is important that you complete your list of to-do items first so that you do not fall behind.
