Dear friend,

It has come to my concern that your health has increasingly deteriorated since your smoking habit has come abroad. I am writing this letter, to make sure that you can rethink your choices of this horrendous habit of yours.

Think about the risks when it comes to smoking. Lung cancer, throat cancer, blood cancer, high blood pressure, is this not enough? Ulcers and reflux, kidney disease, emphysema, do these deathly diseases really sound worth it to smoke? 480,000 deaths are caused by smoking per year in the United States of America alone, 41,000 deaths from second hand smoking. I cannot sit here wait for you to do something about it! I need you to stop smoking before it's too late.

Have you thought about your future? Cigarettes and tobacco are extremely expensive and are using up your money that you should be saving up for in the future. The average cost of a packet of cigarettes is $6.28 in the US, which means someone like you, a pack-a-day smoker, sets your savings back $188 per one month and $2,292 per year. This would mean that by ten years, you would've wasted a total of $22,920. This money could go into things that you love, other than cigarettes.

Do you really think that it is cool to smoke? Is that why you do it? Well, smoking is not cool and it is not alright. Just because your friends think smoking is cool, it isn't. Smoking levels in teens has increasingly lowered in the past years, you know why? Because they have realized that smoking isn't cool, it isn't trendy and it definitely wont get you anywhere but on the streets in life.

So really, do you still want to keep smoking? I'm only writing this to you because I care about you.
