Why is depression so common in teens? from an evolutionary standpoint wouldn't it have been evolved out? especially when it so often leads to suicide or self harming.

Depression is an indicator of a traumatic event or continuous and or repetitive bullying, and many teens have experienced at least one of these. Depression also stems from feelings of worthlessness.
