Based on some brief research I did, antibiotics are general bacteria killers and have the tendency to kill  the good bacteria in your body in addition to the bad bacteria you want to get rid of. This is also true for the good bacteria that prevent vaginal yeast infections, as well. Based on this information, the best answer to the question is probably the second one, "all vaginal bacteria are killed by the antibiotic and can't competitively exclude the yeast."
