Simple you could contaminate the jewelry  if you are handling raw  meats

The jewelry or part of the jewelry could fall into the food. The jewelry can harbor bacteria or other contaminants on the hands of the food worker making hand washing less effective. The jewelry can get caught in food preparation equipment causing injury to the food handler.
