What's the liver do for your body?

The liver.. :

Your liver is your body's largest solid organ. On average, it weighs around 3 pounds in adulthood and is roughly the size of a football. This organ is vital to the body's metabolic functions and immune system. Without a functioning liver, a person cannot survive.

Explanation: Pretty cool if you ask me.

The liver's main job is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract, before passing it to the rest of the body. The liver also detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs. As it does so, the liver secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines.
