How do athletes involved in activities such as diving, scuba, parachuting, and flying sports deal with pressure changes

Such athletes or enthusiast must first learn how to do equalizing in order to withstand changing pressures.  Most divers are taught to open their Eustachian tubes by pinching their nose and blowing out gently. This technique is referred to as the Valsalva Maneuver.
