The new republics in latin america are partly controled externally especially from superpowers such as the U.S and Russia which makes the leaders somehow incompetent to focus on the need of the citizens since they listen to the powers from outside who also have their country's interest which must not be left out of the plans of the leaders in latin america.

In addition to external influence, there is a high level of corruption among leaders in latin america, and their selfish interest affects growth and development of the economy since they are mostly intersted in their own well being as well as that of their cronies and family.
