Several figures during this time created major impacts upon society and generated written works which were used for ages to come. Averroes, a scholar and scribe, translated and preserved Aristotle’s scientific observations. In his spare time, he wrote his own observations on Islamic philosophy and spirituality. Rumi, a famous poet, delved into a more artistic side of literature and generated poems on passion plus his devotion to the Islamic faith; a plethora of these poems are still cherished, related to, and read. Finally, one novel widely revered in the modern and ancient world is One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of short stories for readers.
