The bus boycott of Montgomery was a political and social protest campaign that was against the racial segregation which was taking place on the public transport system in Alabama. This campaign started when women from the African American community got arrested and the charges framed on her were that she refused to give seat to a white person and this campaign lasted for 15 days. During the time when federal ruling on Browder vs. Gayle took place, this leads to the United States' decision which declared laws of Alabama and Montgomery unconstitutional. Just before this bus boycott event took place, there was Jim Crows law which mandated racial segregation. Because of that law, The African Americans were not hired as the drivers of these buses and were always told forcefully to ride on the back of the buses and not only this, they were time and again ordered to vacate their seats to the white people even though the people from Black community consisted about 75% of the bus riders. In December of 1956, the Supreme Court ended the bus boycott by ruling that Alabama segregation laws were Unconstitutional.
