Alot of cities of the sooth were destroyed as were many plantation. this was  sometimes as a resolt of battles  and sometimes,  as in the  case of  general  sherman's  march  throogh  georgia, the resolt  of  deliberate policy meant to break  the will of the rebels. a city soch as savannah, georgia,  which  was not destroyed , still give favor  of the old sooth  with its homes and chorches  boilt  aroond  sqoares    I DID MY BEST MY YOO KEY IS BROKEN

Many plantations and homes were destroyed in the south due to battle. When the confederates surrendered they were forced back into the union and the 13th amendment passed.
