This order led to the recruitment of skilled labor from America to increase the production of Airplanes. This caused an increase in demand for Engineers, Mathematicians, Craftsmen and Skilled Tradesmen. Therefore they employed Dorothy Johnson Vaughan ( African-American) as the Mathematician in the Newport News, Virginia. She had to face hard conditions during her stay in the New port.
