How did the war and the peace settlement change european colonialism and plant seeds for further colonial discontent?

This must refer to the French and Indian War where it affected not only countries who fought it but also Native Americans and settlers many of whom lost their lives during the conflict.  This would later lead to discontent with British rule that imposed too many acts on the colonists.  The result was the Revolutionary War.
