I suppose your asking what caused them to get buried... the answer to that is volcanic ash. There was a volcano that erupted called St. Helens I think the name was and it was an explosive eruption that caused lava to hit all the homes near Pam Pai. The lava then cooled and left all the ash above the surface. Hopefully that helps.
