What is a presidential republic government?

A presidential republic government is a form of government in which the nation is considered a "public matter" ("Republic", in Latin means "res publica").

In a presidential republic the first positions of power are not inherited, but are attained through democracy, in which elected individuals represent the citizen body and practise power according to the rule of law under a constitution, including separation of powers with an elected head of state, referred to as a constitutional republic or representative democracy.

during the 20th century, the role of the vice president has evolved into more of an executive branch position. now, the vice president is usually seen as an integral part of a president's administration and presides over the senate only on ceremonial occasions or when a tie-breaking vote may be needed.
