Describe what happened to the native canadian people after the europeans arrived in 1492

The native Canadian people had to undergo a dramatic depopulation after the arrival of the Europeans on their lands in 1492. The major reason for this was a number of deseases, such as influenza, measles and smallpox to which their immune system was not prepared.
