The Republican Party was formed in opposition to the expansion of slavery into the Western territories.

Broadly, the party agreed that slavery could not and should not expand into the western territories but there was significant rifts between interests groups within the party who did not agree on what the country should do with the actual institution of slavery itself.

the punishment for breaking the law would depend on the conditions or the seriousness of the law being broken, if he or she breaks the law while doing some great discovery or invention then it would classify as a scientific fraud. there are other words to describe the crime but scientific fraud would be the harshest one.
