When a person is accused of a crime, what is a right that he or she has according to the bill of rights? a person may choose to pay the victim compensation rather than have a trial by jury. a person cannot be charged twice for the same crime or be compelled to testify against himself or herself in court. a person may choose which judge presides over his or her case. a person may exercise his or her right to have his or her trial held in a state different from where the crime occurred.
