What is the mental state of a person when living with a criminal record? how can you them to live a normal life in the society?

Living with a criminal record can represent a life-sentence to social contempt, specially in the labor aspect, since accepting an ex-convict for a job might be troublesome for employers and could compromise a company/business reputation.
