European colonization had both positive and negative impacts on Native Americans.

Positive

One of the positive elements of European colonization was the introduction of new crops from Europe to Native American tribes. Thanks to the Columbian Exchange, Native Americans had the ability to gain resources such as pig, sheep, cows, and bananas.

Negative

One of the negative elements of European colonization was the decimation of the Native American population. When Europeans came to North America, they brought over diseases that Native American tribes had never encountered. This negatively effected them, as they had no immunity to these diseases. This resulted in the deaths of millions of Native Americans throughout the 16th and 17th centuries.

the details in state constitutions are not particularly “constitutional” in nature. they often address topics unique to the state. the federal constitution can only be amended through a lengthy process designed to limit changes to this fundamental document. as a result, it has only been amended seventeen times since the adoption of the bill of rights in 1791.

state constitutions are more open to amendments. amendments can be proposed by legislature, a constitutional commission or citizens’ petition and can be accepted by referendum.   for example. the constitution of massachusetts has been amended one hundred and twenty times. the constitution of georgia has even been replaced altogether as many as ten times.
