What was the goal of the women’s suffrage movement?

The aim was to extend suffrage (the right to vote) to women. Women's suffrage, women and men, called suffragists participated.

In 1893, New Zealand became the first country to secure female suffrage, thanks to the movement led by Kate Sheppard.
