A democracy allow ppl to select the leader n also determine wat goes in the market while a communist is ruled by committee n govt controls the economy. People also have more freedom in a democracy while ppl are supposed to have more fairness in a communist govt but it is not always true. personally i prefer democracy.

In a democracy, people  have rights and duties to do what they want. The  state will only interfere when required. People can also own things. In a communism government, the state owns and controls most things. People must follow the state's directives. There are more democracy countries in the world than communist states because democracy is better.

john locke is most associated with the idea of consent of the governed which is the idea that the government is only valid if it has the consent of the people who are being governed.
