What was the authors purpose of writing the avignon papacy? how can you tell?

The author of the poem, Raimon de Cornet, criticized the Avignon papacy through poem because how the pope forced the people of the church to obey his orders.  Raimon also criticized the bishops and Popes to be ignorant and pitiless.

The Avignon Papcy refers to the period of time where the throne of the pope was moved from Rome to Avignon.  This period has also been called Babylonian Captivity because the Pope was moved from his rightful spot.
