How did american imperialism differ from european imperialism

American imperialism differed from European imperialism primarily because European powers conquered entire nations.

By 1900, Britain had a larger empire than any in history, while almost all of Africa and the Middle East was under the control of European power. American imperialism did not focus as much on conquest.

You can talk about how in the 1700s America gained freedom from Britain because America didn’t like the way Britain governed so they created a whole new government. This government allowed more freedom while overtime, Britain government became more democratic and adopted a Prime Minister
